Meet Emily

Emily is one of our talented HR Business Partners, working alongside our managers and colleges providing advice and guidance so that our people feel supported by the business. Emily drives our People Strategy and embedding our DNA behaviours and best practice to enhance and maintain our employee engagement. Emily’s favourite book is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime and recommends it as a must-read.

We are always seeking ways to stand out from the crowd and be the best at what we do internally and externally

Lifetime was recommended as a great place to work through a friend who had worked here for over a year in HR and that combined with a service which helps support education in the workplace, it ticked all the boxes.

Everyone is respected as a key team player in creating high quality training for our employer partners and we are always seeking ways to stand out from the crowd and be the best at what we do internally and externally, which creates varied and interesting projects to work on.

We follow HRBP Way’s of Working which sets out a typical eight weekly cycle for our key work streams and supports building strong partnerships with management across the business. This helps us influence the creation and delivery of effective people plans; this in turn will positively influence the achievement of our people KPIs.

My day is very varied and can change at the last minute due to business needs, however it can include things like attending management meetings to share key business and sector/department updates, project work, general advice and guidance, management training and development, supporting the HR Team, collating management information and reporting and much more!

Having the right can do attitude and demonstrating our DNA behaviours – we all work as part of one team regardless of your role, therefore working collaboratively will enable success.

We have our Evolve conversation framework which supports every day conversations, development and tracks progression against objectives. Many support resources and tools are available on Fuse to learn and share best practice.

It’s fast paced and innovative to ensure we stay ahead of the game to provide quality service to our internal/external employer partners which presents opportunities for our HR Team to introduce new processes – we’re certainly not short of tasks to complete, which is great for me as I love keeping busy!

We really do have ‘Lifetimers’ who have been working here since day one, which adds a great culture of trusted relationships and inspiring to see.

We all care deeply about our learners and the service we provide, so if you care about the future of apprenticeships and teaching and learning and have expertise which will add value, we want to hear from you.
